I'm already starting to shoot a film i'm doing.
It's going really well.
But anyways.

I was wondering about some legal stuff.
Like my movies name.
What do u have to do legally with a movie your trying to name?

Just type it onto the title page of your script and stick it at the beginning of your film. You can't protect it (the title, that is). I don't think that you can copyright the title of a film, even though you can copyright the film itself. HOWEVER, if another film can prove that your film (by its name or advertising) is intentionally trading on the reputation/advertising of the other film (i.e. if people buy, rent or go to see your film thinking it was the other film and there is a loss of business because of that), you might end up in court.

Ok just wondering cause I'm going to open up a website for the film.
Just needed to know so I'm not paying for a movie title name for nothing.
Thanks.

Although titles cannot be copyrighted, they CAN be trademarked. For instance, STAR WARS is a trademark, so if you used that title on something you may be liable for trademark infringement.

OK so is it even worth registering a movie title name?
All I plan to do is take the film to Festivals and sell it myself.
