Hello Listers.
Some years ago, I purchased a Motu Traveller III as an all purpose interface. The Traveler has 4 preamps, a slug of other inputs and outputs, Midi, Firewire, remote power options and a bunch more. It really is a nifty little unit, like an audio swiss army knife. And all the various motu devices run on the same drivers-software. The weak spot was trying to mix with either the front knobs or the clunky software. Several years ago, there was some third party software that was supposed to turn your iOS device into a control surface. I tried to make that work until my eyes were crossed in frustration and finally admitted defeat. Motu just announced a new software driver to interface with any iOS. Motu has always been a Apple friendly developer so I am pretty curious how well this works.
Check it out. I'll be updating in the next few weeks to see how well it works.
