New Monitor/Recorder?

Dat lag doe.

Being a recorder might be fine, but I wouldn't want to use it as a monitor (at least, not for action). DVX200's internal lag is already significant enough.

That's kinda cool. I'd be worried about maxing out the phones memory, and the record bitrate seems a bit low, but I like the concept. Some of these kick-starter outfits worry me. I always like to wait until the product sees the light of day. I thought the Ninja guys were coming out with a recorder (with video output, no monitor) that could do 4K and be about the size of a pack of smokes. Details seem to be only in the "rumor control" stage at this point.... I like using a big monitor on my DVX, but JRJ is right... the lag drives me bonkers sometimes and I bet with a cellphone type monitor even worse - seems like phones have an exaggerated built in display latency to begin with. Gonna follow these guys and see what comes of their effort....

After reading the Detailed Specs, The delay is a deal killer for me. But, in further reading they are planning on Adding 4K and other features in the not to distant future. Boy, having a 8" tablet for an external monitor and recorder with No delay and decent Mbps would be awesome!
I think that it could be a serious competitor. JRJ's right, To much delay. I hate any kind of delay! LOL!

I think it's a great product idea for what it is, but don't try to make it more than that. There's a significant delay in the image and that will never change, and the recording format is fine for basic stuff but I can't imagine using for master recording for a paid gig.
