Does anybody know when to expect a new/updated macbook pro and what its new features could be? I intend to buy one soon but I'm not sure if I should wait....

I'd expect them sometime around or after Leopard comes out in October this year. My personal guess is quarter 1 next year. Of course, Steve Jobs might hold off until the next WWDC to announce the new line of Mac Pros and Macbooks. Hopefully they'll wait long enough to get quad core laptops.

New Macbook Pro's were just released featuring the faster Santa Rosa set at 800mhz Bus Speed as well as faster processors and different video cards as well as a choice of 1920 x 1200 displays.

They likely will not come out until the "Penryn" Intel Chip Sets are released...I believe they are at the highest speeds they can currently attain...trying to cram the 2.8 Extreme that is in the iMac will likely overheat the MacBook Pro.
