New Matte Box owner question

I've finally upgraded to a 4x4 matte box and I had a question about filters and how I should handle them on the go. I'm building up my kit and I just received my first filter. I know 4x4 filters are not ideal for run and gun but my question is how do I handle the filters in a live event situation? Do I need to start carrying around a fanny pack? What do you guys do with your filter/trays when its not in use but could use it at any time. I was spoiled with built in ND filters but I'm now shooting HDSLR
Thanks

Fanny pack (or some other sort of belt-mounted bag) seems like as good a solution as any.

I carry mine in a small backpack (along with all the other bits of kit -- lenses, cleaning equipment, etc). I'm sure there's a better solution though. I know Lowepro, for instance, produce a variety of different types of bags, some of which allow you faster access to contents than others -- shoulder slung bags, etc.

Another thought... Philip Bloom recently blogged about something called a Scottevest -- a jacket with 22 pockets. Does your climate makes it practical for you to wear such a thing? (I personally find I'm constantly battling overheating and fogging up my viewfinder.)

I'm in a desert climate in Washington St, USA it gets up to 95-100+ only 2.5 months out of the year so its not that big of a deal. I use to be a wedding videographer but recently moved into freelance work. It's hard to say no to money and have booked a few wedding events through out the year. With my new gear my work flow has changed and the simplest things and new challenges have come up or changed. I don't have a bag of some sort as of now everything has be in a hard case. Some sort of bag could be used as long as it wasn't too eye catching... My rig is already an eye swore (lcd/hood, FF, rails, Zoom,18in Shotgun mic, matte box w/flags, shoulder mount) Its beautiful to me but it turns heads and sometimes taking away audiences attention isn't ideal. There will be times when going inside of a house and quickly going outside may accrue. Changing WB, changing ISO on top of removing or adding a ilter tray may slow me down until I get more use to it. I'm just seeing if I missed something. Does anyone clip filter trays to their rig?
