So I finally bit the bullet and took the advise of all the Mac users. I went shopping and there was what looked like a real powerful looking Mac so I bought it. I get it home, hook it up, turn it on and .....Nothing. Am I doing something wrong? It wasn't to clear where the cables were supposed to go and it didn't come with a manual. In fact when I asked the girl in the store if it had a manual she looked at me like I was from outer space. So now Ive got this Mac and no one around here seems to know how to run it. I called the Tech support line (1-800-make it go) and they don't have a clue either. I have to say guys so far I don't get what all the fuss is about. I keep using my good old pc.

Re: new Mac won't boot up?

I almost posted without scrolling down, with smarta*& remark, ala TC or Rich Lee, So I'll keep my remark to myself to prevent another thread from turning into FU contest.

Re: new Mac won't boot up?

I see your problem. The keyboard should be plugged into the right apple port. Switch the two and hold down the "command" + "option" keys when you reboot.

If that doesn't work, you must have grabbed a bad apple. :)
