You should also consider where and how you plan on using the logo in the future. If you want to make business cards, putting your logo on clothing apparel, etc. then this logo is definitely too busy. Believe me, this comes from experience...the first couple of logo's I had were very cheezeballishl!
yeah man, i have to say..its pretty cheesy. It reminds me of scarface in a bad way. Id just go with the two reels in front of the name over a simple background.
SSvideo, honestly if you were to come up with this logo back in the 80's it would look cool. I agree with what most said, SIMPLICITY! Most logos I do for people usually only have no more than 3 colors. It makes printing on shirts, hats, mugs, midgets and bathroom walls easier. ;D Nice sunset by the way..
Way too much going on. Printing that logo for varied applications would be a nightmare.
Logos should be designed in a way where they could be printed black on white and convey the same "branding" effect of their color counterpart. A great way to ensure this is to take a vector art approach. If you couldn't do it entirely with vector art, it's too complicated.
Lastly, I'd get rid of the camera. You intend to grow right? Are you always going to be using a DVX? Might as well create a logo that can grow with you and get some continuity in your "branding" effort.
Again, thanks for the honest input guys. As far as printing this logo, I guess I was thinking of using it for a website header more than printing purposes. Maybe logo wasn't the right wording. I will go back to the drawing board and re-think, this effort. Oh, and I will get rid of the camera.
I too would suggest a different font. This one reminds me of a soap opera title from the early 90's. And I wouldn't bow out the false one films, but thats a personal preference.
And uhh, the picture of the sunset is skewed, its looked like you got one midget chasing another.
