New Logo, Critiques

I agree with Pookie. The logo and the title Negative Images don't seem to have a connection. I don't understand the meaning between the two. Maybe using an actual negative would make more sense?

I, for one, liked it. I thought it was well done and would have no problem if I saw that appear at the front of a film.

Just my $0.01 9/10

I'm not commenting on the quality, thats good.

It simply makes no connection with the title "Negative Images".

It might if it were "Space Images".

Its just a name, there is no connection, Does there have to be?

Dreamworks; a kid fishing, off a moon. what are they telling us there films will put us to sleep?

New Line Cinema: Simple enough logo, but is there name telling us they are having budgetary issues?

Anyway, it does have meaning, night is referred to as the negative of day and is symbolized by the moon. A film reel, before being developed, is a negative piece or image. My films are about death, destruction, the stupidity of mankind, and it seems to fit for me.

That hits the inquiry on the name, you either like it or you don't. I was looking for feedback in regards to the animation itself, but thats cool too.

My only complaint is that the camera move stops too abruptly. Try easing out of it. Other than that, it's solid.

I cant watch the video....im on my crappy comp in myroom...its a 456mhz comp....:(

It lags...wat's the Bitrate of the video??

Give us a break. You asked for opinions and you got them; don't start whining about the negative press. Spare us, pleease.

I think the name is horrible; Negative Images. I don't know. Just does not sound cool or original or anything really; just "Blah"

The animation is pretty cool; looks nice for a first draft but seems to be missing some depth or detail. Looks generic; like an unfinished 3D Studio Max Tutorial.

There doesn't have to be anything, but there's certainly a strong case to be made that graphic images can/should support the underlying concept/name.

Running a visual design as well as broadcast company for a number of years, and doing a ton of logo/ID work still and animated, the client would certainly ask me what it meant if there were no correlation between the visual concept and their name or slogan.

Bottom line: you don't have to, but if you have the opportunity to reinforce your branding with a thought provoking connection between the two, then it would make sense to explore the possibilities.

The process usually leads to a lot of cool ideas and one will usually rise to the top.

hmm, I think if you made your letter "I" a negative film strip, I think it would be tight! It's simple enough and it would look cool. My opinion anyway..

I don't know there spidey...

I think a nice title crawl, using a 30 point black font on a nice black background would convey the proper meaning and impact to the "Negative Images" title.

I did a quick animation , here's a frame grab of what I mean.

Dude.....

LOL

He shouldn't ask opinions if he doesn't want to hear them.

You know pookie..i jus sat here eating my grilled check and scrolling like crazy to find a freaking logo thru the endless of black...and relized like 2 min later there's nuttin....AAH!!

you trickster.... haha

Staino - That was incredible. Very nice intro logo. Listening to it with no sound was almost as powerful as with the sound. The darkness and absolute silence of space. Deafening. I understand what everyone else is talking about (my logo has a washing machine because it's Laundry Day Productions). But, then again, the name should match the kind of style you have and the type of films you'll be making, and from what you described, it does. A logo that is too "literal" is not a good thing. Avoid it. So use whatever elements you want (or like) and let your actual productions speak for themselves. There are logos (at the end of major TV broadcasts) that have an old lady falling off a chair, a sonogram of a baby, etc. It doesn't have to make sense. But it should represent who YOU are. Good luck.
