I believe I'm the first one outside the company to have one. I was just shooting some tests a few minutes ago with our Micro LP pre-production unit. The quality of light is going to surprise a lot of people. It's so light too, even loaded with 4 AA batteries - 7oz!

No NDA for you?
It´s not the site,
when will it be officially released?
Please do one of your video infomercials about it!

No NDA on this one. The LP micro is not on the Litepanels site yet, that's why you guys are first to hear about it here! Actually they did show it at HD Expo and received an amazing response. Everyone who came to the booth wanted to buy it on the spot.

You'll see magazine ads in December and they'll be shipping in January 2008. I'll do one of our podcasts on it.....just for you :)

Are they available in tungsten as well as daylight? Running time on a set of batteries before a noticeable change in light temp ? Aprox retail price ?
Thanks

One version, daylight. There is an included snap in gel holder which has a full CTO. You'll loose approximately 2 stops. I was running it last night with the CTO and it still kicks ass for brightness. Absolutely no color shift in color temperature when dimming even as batteries are near full depletion. I haven't timed battery life at 100% intensity yet. I'll test that when I get back in the office with a new set of quality Duracell Pro's.
By the way, there is also a 1/4"-20 mount in the cold shoe, so you can attach it to a stand/tripod/monopod. I have mine on a funky shoe adapter. Pushed off to the side.

Full retail price will be $349.

Hehehe I´m honored!

The price point seems just right, I wonder if Vidled has something up their sleeve already...
Marius?

Something up our sleeves?

OF COURSE we do!
More next year though....but it's going to be exciting!

Good to hear!
One of my DayLeds was stolen on a recent gig :furious3::furious3::furious3::furious3::furious3::furious3:,
how much will I have to save up for the "new breed...?

Sorry to hear about the stolen VIDLED. :(

Pricing is not quite decided, but I'd predict they will start LOWER than currently, but there will also be versions that are DELUXE (with bells and whistles, or probably more precise....barndoors and softbox) and those will be higher than our current offering.

oooh vidled has got my attention! keep us posted. I'll probably be buying some more next spring for a doc that doesnt seem to be able to get out of pre-prod...

You should add serial numbers
Any updates on the new lights, yet?

Serial numbers won't keep your vidleds from being stolen... if I'm on a busy set I keep it on a stand, camera, or in my pocket/bag. I've never met another video guy that's seen mine and didn't want it... in the heat of the moment they offer to buy it from me, but most people are ignorant about what things like this cost. Stealing is free unless you get caught... so watch your stuff. For me... it's cables, adapters, and slates.

I'm curious to see how the litepanels mini compares to a vidled. The important factors (in my opinion) are quantity of output, duration of consistent output, quality of the light, and convenience of use (size/weight).

That's my list... in that order.

Well the guy or gal now has a DayLed without any way to power it...
Hey Marius, any battery or Pana adapter orders lately from customers who didn´t buy a VidLed itself...?:)

Here's a little sample of the Litepanels Micro http://www.vimeo.com/463187
About half way through the clip I turn it on. Shot with the Panasonic HPX500. The camera's ND2 in being used believe it or not. Iris Wide Open. Key light off to the side is a 250W Lowel Rifa softbox.
