Still not there yet, but maybe I'm closer? Maybe it's still to warm? Not dark enough on the wall by the plant? Let me know what you think.

Much better than the first ones but indeed it is too bright now. Surely there is a common ground?! :o

I'm so hosed, I'm about to post another series in this thread. I just exported three stills from FCP where they looked perfect. Opened them up in Photoshop and they seem to dark.... All I'm asking is for a little uniformity. Is that too much to ask for?

From my angle:

THey seem to missing "Highlights". These are not really too bright nor dark but kind of 'monochromatic'.

I have another question. Do you notice that even in the brighter footage there is what appears to be "noise" (for lack of a better term) in the image (by the wall)? It doesn't look clean. I get this even if I don't use the filter (I'm shooting with a black promist 1/2). I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as I've seen much cleaner images out of this camera? I shot this at -3 gain with an Fstop of 3.7.

I see a little but it is not distracting to me; I have seen noise in even the best 35mm films. Why the Promist? I'd be curious to see some of these same shots with and without the filter.

Last night I did the last of my definitive tests. I had my actor over and did the same dolly down to him shot with all the variables (filter on, no custom presets, bracketed exposures from 2.6 to 4.4, repeat with the filter off, repeat with filter on but using my custom preset 1, etc., etc.). I also relit and really like the results. Tonight I'll play in my editor again and post what I come up with. But I think I'm going with what I have.

It also kind of bother me that your plant has 3 different shadows of different colors. Not that it woudn't happen in a real life situation, but in a film, it kind of bugs me... Some DP's think it's the antichrist, btw...
