new LEX achromat won't screw in! ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Hi,

As the title says i'm having trouble with fitting the new achromat, it only seems to screw in half of the threads length then gets really tight. Any help would be great!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, hopefully I am wrong...

Sounds like you might be cross threading it...If it the achromatte enters on an angle cross threading occurs (which can ruin your threads on both adaptor and achromatte). Gently reverse and remove. Look at the threads - are they silver with little bits of metal? Hopefully not.

When attempting to put is back in, turn counterclockwise holding it as parallel as possible. Once you feel it start 'click' into it's seat turn clockwise.

If it was wasn't cross threaded (or not badly), you should be able to get it back in correctly. Beware of paint/metal chips entering your adaptor.

I'm fairly confident it's not cross threaded. Everything looks straight and goes in easy til about half way down the thread.
