The Letus35 team, Quyen, Hien and Aaron, are proud to announce the first adapter designed specifically for smaller cameras, the Letus35 Mini. This new adapter features the same quality as the Letus35 Extreme in a small form factor package. Weighing in at 1lb 9oz, this little adapter is perfect for cameras such as the Canon HV20. Those with smaller cameras will appreciate the ease of use. This is a great "travel sized" adapter. If you want a smaller, lighter adapter without sacrificing quality, check out the new Letus35 Mini.

The Letus35 Mini accepts all of the same lens mounts as the Letus35 Extreme. It comes with either 37mm or 42mm thread rings, to fit a variety of smaller cameras. For more information, please visit our product page.

These are in stock now, and will ship in 3-5 days to those who order early.

Thank you all for your kind support and feedback. We hope you enjoy the newest member of the Letus35 adapter family.

Interesting.
Good idea.

Of course from the pic on the site I can't tell much of a difference - it would be nice to have something in those shots for scale.

Size comparison...

Am i right in assuming that is has a much weaker achromat for smaller lenses? Otherwise the half weight and size with a few step down rings on bigger cameras would be very attractive and DeGrey...are you just getting in from a late night clubbing or are you just working very hard!?

Correct. The Mini is designed for the smaller lenses. If you have anything bigger than say 43mm, the Extreme is the way to go.

However, if you want to send me your new XDCAM EX, I can test the Mini on it for you ;)

Clubbing? On a Friday night? Who does that anyway? Friday night is for working!

Sure...EX1 on it's way to you. No problem!

Out of curiosity what happens if you put the mini on a larger camera?

It's 930am where I am, time to start work soon, off on a 6 day shoot with the EX1...whoops, you will have to wait for it DeGrey, i need it. Sorry!

Oh my god, I just reconsidered my production plan. From now on I`ll use HV20 as adaptor cam and A1 as primary fast paced production cam. Got to pimp my HV now...
DeGrey check your mail, I hope my mail got through.

Cheers,
Tõnis

i was just thinking of getting an hvx 20 for a b cam to my conon a1.this would be perfect for the steady cam merlin i'm thinking of purchasing.please give a price.

Wow that price is pretty close to the Extreme! Wouldn't it make more sense to just buy the Extreme for an additional 100 and you can upgrade your cam as you grow?

The price is close to the Extreme because it is basically the same adapter in a smaller body. And yes, if you have a bigger camera or plan on upgrading to a bigger camera, the Extreme is the way to go.

The Mini is for those users who don't have/want a big cam or want to have a small B cam / travel camera.

I plan on taking an HV20 and Mini with me over Christmas so I don't have to lug the XH-A1 around at the airport ;)

Malcom and I are planning a trip to Oregon. We have our picket signs ready to go which reads "We Want The Letus Rails" in big bold letters. What time does Letus open?

Am I the first one to ask where is the footage with this sucker, or has it been posted somewhere?

Nope... I asked the same question about footage.

On another note... I think the price is set wrong on the mini. It's only $100 from the Extreme. The Extreme comes with the option to work with all; the mini is limited to 43mm and below. Resale value would tank on this compared to reselling an Extreme which will have a wider market place looking to buy used gear. You need to really think this one out before purchasing. It's funny too that the mini is at least $300 more then one of the cameras that it connects to. If I were a letus buyer, the extreme for just 100 bucks more is worth the future proof for renting, reselling or even if a new much better camera ( which is going to happen ) came out that had a 52mm or 58mm lens making the mini a waste when you could have gotten the Extreme and avoided limiting your production options altogether....

Just my opinion.
