I'm interested!

I'm actually in the market for new lenses. Looking at the new Cooke Panchro 5-set of lenses, perhaps two nice zooms, or the Zeiss Compacts. Thus far the new Panchro's are attractive. The new Arri-Fujinon zooms I saw at the Alexa debut made me want to test out zooms.

I'd love to test these lenses out. I wonder where they will fall in quality and price. They are certailny faster in speed then the Panchros, Z-compacts and Arri-Fujinon's.

On a side note, strange 'mm' selections for the set, although I really have no objections to it. My only regret would be not having one lens greater then 100mm... such as 135 OR 150mm. Then again, those are really tough lenses to make at 1.4's considering the lens girth would explode!

I don't want to know how much a set of these will cost.

[Starshine Video]

in the five figure per lens range. Speculation I have seen is about 20k per as an average.

[Chris Santucci]

Yeah, I'll stick with Nikkor...

[John Brawley]

They are only selling them as a set at the moment. And that set will be $178 000.

Yeah... yikes!

I just got that Email from Band-Pro.... 178k for 8 lenses.

That was about 78,ooo more then I was expecting. Jeez.

[Chris Santucci]

Now the 8 lens set is nearly $200K and there's a 3 year wait. Ouch. Looks like these are in demand. Otto Nemenz bought the first 20 sets. I'm told the Summicron versions will be out in a year and a half or so and will cost less.
