New Layout?

Don't particularly care for it. This is dvx user, I think at least the Panny cameras should have all their forums laid out. I like the other cameras having a link on the main forum, but now they get more space altogether than the ones that we're all here for

I agree with you about that, it's weird to be able to read more about those cameras thant the panasonic cameras without clicking anything.

Edit: uhh nevermind, I guess all the cameras are like that now.

Expand your horizon's my friends :)

It's not about the cameras... we have sub forums for editing suites too... it's about making films and sharing information on how to get to a good end product.

I don't hate it, but it is a bit irritating. The site isn't the fastest out there (which is understandable, given it's popularity), and with the Panasonic forums no longer directly on the home page, navigating takes much longer.

Before, I could go to the home page and click on a HVX forum, and then hit the back button to go to the Vegas forum, the Cafe, etc. But now I have to hit "Panasonic Cameras, then the HVX forum I want. So it's an extra set of steps. Which isn't a big deal normally, but when the site takes a while loading, or my internet is slow, I can see myself just leaving and checking back later rather than waiting.

I'd say keep all of the Panasonic camera forums as they were, and leave the new catagoreis for the other cameras toward the top of the page. And it would probably make sense to put the "other cameras" section up top too with the other brand specific ones, just for organization's sake.

I wonder if vBuliten supports custom per-user layouts? If it does, this discussion is moot if we could each select from a list of predetermined themes.

At the bottom of every page is a "Forum Jump" drop down list. You can go directly to any forum/sub-forum you want with a single click.

Wow. I've been coming here for over a year, and never noticed that. Shows how much I pay attention sometimes...

Thanks for the tip!

Many changes afoot.
David, is this a general comment on what has already been done or a cryptic hint at changes still to come?

I like the reorganization so far, but am still holding out hope that there will be more targeted sections on the business/money-making aspects of what we do. Something along the lines Barry Green's suggestion here.
