New Laowa OOOM 25-100 t/2.9 Cine Lightweight Zoom

The Laowa OOOM 25-100mm is selling for $5000 and newsshooter has reviewed it: https://www.newsshooter.com/2020/08/13/laowa-ooom-25-100mm-t2-9-review/

A little soft wide open, a little soft at the long end, some CA wide open, but otherwise good and parfocal and relatively low breathing.

What's really cool is they include a 1.4x full-frame adapter (so it become a 35-140mm T4) as well as an anamorphic adapter to squeeze 2.35:1 onto 16:9 sensors

Matthew says that the 1.4X FF adapter and the anamorphic adapters will cost extra and were not available yet.
"The case design is well thought out and Laowa has also incorporated cut-outs for the optional 1.33x Anamorphic Rear Adapter and 1.4x Full Frame Expander. You will eventually
be able to buy the 1.33x Anamorphic Rear Adapter and 1.4x Full Frame Expander as apart of a kit with the OOOM." No indication as to how much the adapters will cost yet.

I have a friend who shoots a lot of cool stuff and has an F5, he has been waiting for this lens to release for two years, it would be perfect for his needs. I hit him up yesterday and
he says as soon as he books some paying gigs, he will buy it. The lens sounds like a VERY good value for $5k. For me, 25mm on the wide end wouldn't be wide enough to be the
perfect all in one. I would buy the Fuji Cabrio non-servo 20-120 for double the price myself if I was looking for an all arounder cine zoom, largely because of it's 20mm wide end
and 200 degree focus rotation. The 300 degree focus rotation of the Laowa would also preclude me from buying it as that's too much rotation for handheld manual focus operation, although perfect for electronic FF.

As far as the build quality and image quality, it looks like a home run to me and a viable alternative to save money in these budget challenged times. I've rented a Laowa fisheye
and liked the look of the lens and the build. Choices are great and the Laowa looks to be an inexpensive way to get into a close to all in one, quality cine zoom.
