New Iphone

Robbie Comeau

Como's back. back again
Should be getting it any day.

They can put a man on the moon, but can't make the battery last more than a day, which I'm TICKED off with the iPhone.

Anyway, STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, what's the best method to charge?

With my old phones, I'd charge it right away for 24 hours, then, use it. Let it die completely 3 times in a row before charging it again, then I'm all set.

(At least that's what my dad told me)

But I hear now the iPhone doesn't have a memory in the battery so what should I do when I get it? I'm gonna want to play with it that's for sure..

The Iphone use a cord that plugs into a USB port. You can plug it into your laptop, desktop, or the AC adapter that comes with it. It's a lithium ion battery so it does not have a memory. And whoever told you the battery only lasts a day has no idea what they are doing. I charge mine a couple or 3 times a week.

I have been exceptionally pleased with it. I would encourge you to put protective film on it, and a decent case. I use Invisible Shield film (best on the market) but have not yet done a case for mine... maybe for Christmas.

Yeah, I only charge mine every 3 days or so. Methods to lengthen the battery life; turn off 3g when you aren't using it, and set it to manual e-mail downloads, or at least set it to download e-mails every hour instead of every five minutes.

That's me ;). Personal experience using my moms. Barely lasted me through the day.

Although, I'm one to browse a lot, and go on videos. But still. If there making a phone that allows you to search the web and go on videos and play games, they should make it last long enough.

I don't think they could do that and keep the form factor. Most phones have a smaller screen and processor which eats up less battery, and don't browse the web and all the other jazz the iphone does. If they put a bigger battery on it the phone would be thicker and more awkward to hold. Battery tech keeps improving though so I'm sure it will be fixed soon.
