New Interface for computers - Future is here

I changed my mind. With one of those built into a TV nobody would ever lose their remote controls again.
Even though you always find it between the couch pillows after you search the entire house.

I predict that one will be included with just about any electronic device that requires interaction.

Entertainment systems are the best applications I can think of. It takes a lot of energy to reach over and pick up a remote, and sometimes I'm busy eating pizza and nachos so I can't use voice commands. But flicking my hand? That's a step in the right direction.

The rumor of Apple entering the TV market has had lots of misc info but the pieces may be coming together. The rumored name was "iPanel" - it was rumored to have siri and cameras for Facetime or motion capture. Apple was working on Kinect like gestures some time ago. Lately there has been info suggesting the iPanel may be portable.

Could Apple's next product be a 32" iPad in a way? Since you can't yet do multitouch on a screen of that size (and may not want to be that close anyway), you could use this tech or something similar that Apple has developed to have a 32" screen/panel that operates and responds to touch control much like an iPod. Add an new/advanced/refined version Siri for voice control, and Apple's upcoming iTunes subscription service (a marriage of Hulu+ & Netflix & iTunes movies/TV) and you would have a portable AppleTV/giant iPad type of product.

Apple is trying to make a push to the digital home and the living room. This could be a family focused device, and serve as a type of central Panel to display your calendar, weather, widgets, etc. It would serve as a great gaming device, great medium sized screen for streaming TV/movies, video conferencing tool, etc. Plus provide all the uses of an iPad at a larger display, where you could sit back to navigate. Could be used for as a family hub, TV, gaming, and all other apps/internet in the kitchen, dorm room, living room, etc.

Before one says it is unnecessary, consider what everyone said of the iPad. If they hit a price point of $999, it might make more sense than a normal sized TV for a lot of of people.

This product doesn't even exist, there's not even an actual plan for it yet, and already it's giving me a headache.

I predict Facebook will buy them.

Or Google.

Or Apple.

Or MS.

Or...

And they won't share any related patents. And the companies that didn't buy the patents will make something similar (but possibly different enough), and then they'll get...

sued by Facebook

Or Google.

Or Apple.

Or MS.

Or...
