New Homepage Redesign - Opinions Needed

New visitors to our website have always been confused as to "what" Isara.org is and "how" it works. For good reason. The site is cluttered and a real mess (click here to see for yourself). With the new design we decided to go with something COMPLETELY different and to make the homepage more focused on the charity.

The design below is just a sample. To give an idea of the direction we're going:
- The big charity project image will fade/change, similar to the current homepage.
- The main content window has temporary content ("latest video" and projects). I will spend more time designing that section later.

Looking forward to some feedback. Positive or negative.

I like it PK. Really diggin the color scheme.

I have a sugestion:

Drop the section directly under the search bar down a little bit to give room for more options like Images, Maps, Weather, and so on. Make it a little more functional.

one suggestion i have is change the larger "latest video" to a video explaining what isara does. maybe label it something like "what is isara?" then all the latest videos would be on the right like you have them, with the most recent ones on top. keep the design as concise and clean as possible.

It works for me on the Mac. One suggestion I might make would be to make the search bar the "hero" of the page, and place it above the slideshow. Just thinking from a functionality standpoint that might make a bit more sense.
