Hello, my good bud Mark introduced me to this corner of the net, and I finally remmeberd to ask for a link...about a year later. Bette rlate than never.

My Name is Johnathan Wrathborne (Well, not really but its a memorable psudonym) and I'm a horror idealist. Even thogh I'm a horror idealist I pretty much hate about 90% of the horror thats out there, mainly since its all derived from about 10-15 horror titles and usually recycled sequences from 'ringu', the 'matrix', 'night of the living dead', 'poltergeist' etc.

There is much much more out there that can be used for horror, but its alwasy ignored for zombies, japanese ghost girls, torture, or werewolves.

I find that just because you have a horror movie, doesnt mean it should focus on torture scenes, gore, or snazzy CGI effects. Theres gotta be a solid story there, its gotta be compelling and human. The more human the story and characters are in a film, the more you care about them.

This goes pretty much against the horror films we've been given over the past 6-7 years. As an idealist I'm kind of sick of all this garbage. One of the reason I opted to become a film maker. Even thogh I've only been a film student for a good 5 years now so I'm pretty much 'past kindergarden'

But thats never stopped me in the past from learning and creating little things.

I'm very much a fan of japanese horror and consider myself a hybrid of Eastern and Western cinema ideas, having grown up watching anime as a child.

I'm also an animator and have a flash animation project on new grounds that should be out in a month or so.

I get my most creative ideas and what not from anger and rage so naturally I hate more stuff than I like and it some how works out in the end, well for me anyways.(Just ask me about the resident evil movies, double dare you)

I'm going to graduate from college in about 4 months from now with an AA in film and well, thast pretyt much it about me. Hope I posted this in the correct section.

i have many rice a roni related questions that i've been pondering over the past few years; so i'm glad to finally meet someone from the bay area who can share some insider knowledge with me.
