Another discovered prob I think. Says there's 430 people logged on right now. I've been on here at 2:30am PST before and it's usually just me and BLUESPIDER taking cracks at each other. I don't think it's logging people off if you care.
 
Really like the new interface of the forum webiste....though I think it will take all of us some time to get used to with the new design...but it is no doubt a nice one.

However I was surprised to see that I had last visited the forum on 1.1.1970

teething problems ...I know
 
What keeps happening to my posts. They keep vanishing into thin air. I post, and then I am taken to some strange place on the site and my post is gone. I don' know why I am even writing this as it will probably never be posted.
 
Here is another challenge. Way back when, I read the first 6-7 pages of this thread. Then I posted onto page 18. I just got a post notification, and clicking the link took me to page 12. Makes no sense to me...

Also, fwiw, I have no idea what "dude don't bite my material" refers to. It might make sense if I was viewing threads rather than linear mode. Maybe there is an option to show which message is being replied to?
 
Click "new posts" on the topbar. It's right next to "mark forums read". Clicking "new posts" will obviously show you the new posts.
 
Ok. I have quietly been looking all over for the "members map" link. I guess I'm going to have to ask where it is. I used the map quite a bit for localizing people.
 
yeah map is gone... it will come back but that was gravy so it wont be in the next couple days.

Also, the new posts thing is kinda cool.. when you click new posts there is a list, then there is a little blue down arrow box in the start of the topic, if you click that it will take you directly to where you left off.. kinda nice, so you dont need to hunt around for what page you where last on.

As for the log on log off... if you log off (meaning actually click the log off button) it clears your cookies completely so its like you have never been here before, so when you come back, you gotta type in your password and its gonna show all posts read because the cookie telling it has been erased... so if you wanna see the new posts since you where last here dont press that log off button.

Great job on getting this up an running so quickly...as a professional computer programmer I understand that a change of this magnitude is difficult to pull off smoothly. I am happy with the performance of this new system. :thumbsup:


Any chance the "displayname" option will be fixed soon?

other section will come back soon.. displayname isnt an option.. its a left over from the last forum. If you want your name that is shown to change, just let me know with a PM and I will change it for you.
