New Forum problems? post here.

i've noticed that some threads tell me there are new posts, when in fact i've already read them and refreshed too. i'm sure that will work itself out too.

yellow or red? red means hot yellow means new.

yellow with a little blue arrow next to the topic name. get some sleep. i'm just throwing stuff at you. no biggies at all, except the username displayname thing. Fix that before you go to sleep!

Wait! We can't goto bed angry. That's the number one "no-no" in a relationship. Jarred I apologized and said I never assumed you deleted anything. This is when you say, "It's ok honey, I'm sorry too. (kiss on forehead) :)

Change is inevitable... Unless you always carry exact change.

i take it back, it's not a yellow light. it's a red envelope with an arrow on it, plus the little blue square next to the thread name. once i've read the thread and refresh, the blue square and arrow goes away (looks like the same arrow next to the last posters name)

the blue square is kind of redundant to the yellow light to the left, HOWEVER, i have already instinctively been looking for that icon to tell me there are new posts, so dont get rid of it.

confused? i just read that back, and I AM! :cheesy:

I goto bed when I'm needed in bed. That's all you need to know.

antOmic - This is definitely the most views within 12 hours (unless you count the time Bluespider accidentally posted that porn link). Hmmmm Which makes me believe only one thing!, ....it's sweeps week at DVXuser and this was just Jarred's way of getting more viewers. Sneaky. Very sneaky. What happened to gratuitous sex and celebrity cameos?

Here's an excerpt.

Well, I don't want to read 17 pages to know if this has been posted, but....

I dislike that all forums and threads get marked as read when I visit the site. It was much better before when it was done on a forum by forum basis, and I had to manually mark all threads in the forum (this last could go either way). This is also a big problems since many (but not all) of the forums only display new messages. I think this change has made board twice as hard to use, maybe three times as hard. So if I do not have time to read every forum on a visit, the next visit has me missing lots of good threads or doing LOTS of extra keystrokes, which only exacerbates the problem of time use.

Actually galt, you saved yourself some time. no one has mentioned that yet. I was just about to ask that same thing. i just hadnt logged out all night, and did for the first time a few minutes ago. when i logged back in, everything had a black button next to it. even discussions i hadnt looked at yet.

:)

Overall the changes are amazing! There's an icon next to the threads that you have posted to. Sometimes you forget what posts you've posted to. Now there's an envelope with an arrow to remind you (I think antOmic - or is it antomic already mentioned that). The PM notifier is kind of cool too. Lots of cool new toys to play with. It's like getting the DVX100 al over again.

Well, once "isara" becomes "P.K. Gillock" again, I shall return to "antOmic". I am sure of it. I miss all of you guys. Me so confused! :undecided

FYI: A thai person gave me the name Isara when I first arrived. He said isara means "freedom". So I named my computer business IsaraPC, a small school - The Isara Learning Center, and I have an unusual rash also named Isara.

Wait, i've just been informed that Isara actually means "White Devil". That makes MUCH more sense. And is more relevant to this irritating rash.
