New Editing System

Hey everybody, I decided it's about time to enhance my computer a little bit. by the time i'am done it will be:

Processor - AMD Athlon 64-bit "venice" 3200+ 2.0ghz
motherboard - DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR motherboard
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
harddrives - Seagate Barracuda 80gb 7200 RPM
Maxtor 80gb 7200 RPM
power supply - Thermaltake Silent purepower 480w
memory - 2gb of GEIL ultra 184-pin dual channel PC4000 ram
DVD burner - NEC Black IDE DVD burner 16x DVD +/- RW drive
WaterCooling - Cooler Master Aquagate "ALC-U01" Water cooling kit

I'am not upgrading the entire system, the video card, maxtor 80gb, and the CD burner are all from my old system. I decided to add some watercooling in there just for the hell of it, always wanted to try watercooling. From the reviews on the processor I have seen the processor OCed to about 2.8ghz, which is quite amazing for just air cooling. So I figure if I add a little extra cooling maybe atleast a good stable 2.8ghz. I just wanted to see what you guys thought of my new system.

I'd still look at upgrading the video card. And you'll most likely need more space, 160GB doesn't cut it anymore. I had exact same drives on my PC before and it was never enough, when I started dealing with uncompressed dv. Not sure about watercooling, too. If only for the quietness, because I don't think I would overclock my editing PC, rather have it as stable as possible.

Be careful with how you set things up. I've heard some nasty stories about watercooling "accidents". The problem isn't leaks, but condensation that drips down and fries a video card. I went through my overclocking phase and concluded that the performance gains are usually marginal for all the effort. But if you like to tinker and tune and have the hours to spend...

well for the watercooling i'am only getting a CPU waterblock. Everything else will be untouched the the water cooling. So, hopefully nothing will go wrong. I do enjoy tinkering with my computer, so water cooling has always been kind of interesting to me. As the same for OverClocking, I always like to possibility to get more out of my system then what the company sets it for. The company I work for right now actually just gave me 2 full raid systems (they were put out for disposal....), so I will probably use those for some extra space as well. I will still get the extra 80gb though.
