If Panasonic at Interbee does not divulge the DVX100A, then I'll purchase it on the following week. Otherwise... :-/ Well... I may just wait and see. ??? ??? ??? I't killing me to wait too!!! I HATE RUMORS AHGGHHH!

Re: New DVX100 (well the updated version)

I am in the same boat on buying a DVX. I am about 1 week away from putting my order in. This sucks, why can't they be like Sony or Canon and wait 3 years for a new rev.

Disposable progress, I guess.

Re: New DVX100 (well the updated version)

Well in a sense, thank god that Panasonic isn't like Sony and Canon. It shows initiative and rapid turn around to customer feedback. Also as an alternative, like Zoom said, it would really be first class on the part of Pany to have an upgrade path for current DVX100 users. Since most changes are software, why not offer a firmware update for existing customers. I'm 99% sure that most DVX100 owners wouldn't mind paying an extra for the alleged new features.

Re: New DVX100 (well the updated version)

I to thought twice before making the purchase. It was right when I was ready to buy (3 weeks ago?) that these rumours first started appearing.

I feel I have exactly what I need to do what I want without the upgrades. :)

Re: New DVX100 (well the updated version)

Well hopefully someone at Pany is watching this forum, and would see the customer loyality, and make the upgrade option to existng owners as firmware.
I really want the slower shutterspeed options...bad.

Re: New DVX100 (well the updated version)

Thanks chris for the link.

I am very happy that Panasonic has improved even the little things that irked me.. Like the scene dial now has a little rib around it so it doesnt get moved.. right now i tape mine.

That 16x9 in camera squeeze also is gonna be very interesting.

Re: New DVX100 (well the updated version)

Now we know!  It is no longer a rumor!  Wabadabadoooo!   8)  :D

Now there's just that little detail as to when exactly it will be shipping!

Re: New DVX100 (well the updated version)

If you really want slow-shutter progressive scan frames, you can do that already with the DVX100. Just shoot at 30p with 1/30 shutter, and then use a program like Avisynth to stack the frames together (2 for 1/15, 3 for 1/10, 4 for 1/7.5 sec, etc.) When you do it in post like this, you have the ability to decide after the fact which shutter speed you want, which can be convenient!

Re: New DVX100 (well the updated version)

Or it could be done in After Effects easily too. But slow shutter speeds is only a small part of the improvements.
