Hello, this is my first post on this site. I will be buying a dvx100a in the next couple of days. After researching tons of sites that offer the camera at 'too good to be true' prices, ie, $1800 to $2500, I've decided to go the safe route and buy from an authorized Panasonic dealer and spend the $3000-$3500 that these dealers sell for.

I would prefer going to a 'walk in' store rather then by purchasing the thing online. I reside in Los Angeles. Can anyone recommend a good store to go to? If not, I know that online stores such as BH, EVS, and Abel are good. I could always just go to the panasonic site and get a list, but I wanted to check here for individual refferals first.

if you live in la, dont buy online.
just jump on the i-5 north, exit western east, make a right at flower... [from the 110 north]
evs on the right.

go here so you can open the package, ask questions, test it, etc. $3408.95 [if i remember correctly] out the door, tax, everything. cash/check/wire price though. i paid cash cause theres a hold period for checks... and who wants to hold when youre buying? cash or wire. theres a tax break form that reduced the tax too. $3408.95 - $300 rebate = $3108.95!

PS- EVS YOU GOTTA GET YOUR AIR CONDITIONER FIXED/ADJUSTED/ETC!!! people were literally sweating in the showroom last fri! one of the salesmen had sweat dripping down his forehead! lol... the showroom is small so the more people, the less air, more sweat. hahaha. ultra micro showroom, but their knowledge and help is worth it.

hope that helped bro-

Dude, ttt, I know man! We have been trying to get new AC units in there but the logistics of getting them in that building's roof have been insane. It wasn't so bad until 2 weeks ago when it started getting really hot outside. It should hopefully improve by the next time you're in there. Thanks for recommending us, dude!!

ps, welcome for the plug... let me know when the ac's fixed! hahaha.

oh and ps, whats the differences [besides price] between the master quality tapes and the more expensive AMQ type panasonic tapes??? the rebate tapes are the AMQ type i believe.

Isn't that the $239.50 question? :) I haven't heard a straight answer yet, but free [expensive] tapes can't be a bad thing ...
