Well we are still waiting on the new machines from Align a quad and a hex a copter but things are moving elsewhere.

Walkera have two new machines which are getting rave reviews
The First ia a Hexcacopter the Tali H500 and the second is a quad that can be configured to become a Octocoper

Both machines will have all the goodies including follow me modes and pre programmed routes entered via a smart device and a larger 3D gimble is promised that will carry a Sony RX100.

DJI have not said much but rumours surface of something called a transformer.

I liked the look of the Tali H500 but then when I looked at user footage I saw jello in it, so I'm yet to be convinced on that.

Yes I liked the Tali H500 too but for me that Walkera have just announced it cant carry a RX100, they have tried and its too marginal. Why ? it has six engines, just use some more battery power for thrust. I love the redundancy and stability a hex can offer.

Hopefully the scout X8 will have no issues...

EDIT correction, its still under development so the Tali can carry a a Sony RX100 with reduced flight times
