New drone from Walkera

It looks like the Inspire but the arms are fixed and it uses a landing gear instead, thus they avoid the DJI Patent.

Hi P13, my comments were a bit tongue in cheek, yes I spotted the retractable undercarriage ...Now Walkera are a reputable company this could be a great machine. a simpler perhaps lighter/cheaper cousin on the Inspire..

No worries.

I was just mentioning it, as when I saw this at first glance I thought it was an Inspire rip-off and to be fair I can't see how Walkera would have just accidentally done such a similar design, so really it is, albeit in a way that suggests it'll not fall foul of DJI's lawyers.

Funnily enough I found an old webpage / blog on quadcopters from 2014 suggesting the DJI Inspire and this machine would be launched at the CES 2015, so perhaps DJI pulled all the stops out to get theirs up first. Was their some industrial espionage, probably ...

I'm just wondering how much the unique moving arm system on the Inspire weighs and perhaps Walkera's system may be considerably lighter.

Pricing... News from walkera

Voyager 3 with 4Kcamera ,gimbal, landing gear, but no Controller for 1999€

FPV Kit for 2399€

That's still a significant price. At that price I'd look at the 3D Robotics X8+ first, albeit by the time you've put a gimbal and camera on it could cost more.

It's a fast machine, it can also survive a crash with a tree.

There's no footage really being shown from the camera though which doesn't bode all that well.

The legs retract and the gimbal drops down, for what ever reason he did not put the legs up.
