New DIY 15mm rod support

Good job, give a look at mine, I made it from a couple of Ceramic Tile Cutter (The base where the camera seats , the base where the tripod plate goes, the handle, the piece where the sunshade goes and the 15 mm light iron rods), however you can use aluminium pipe; the only things that I have made are the big rectangular aluminum blocks between the cam and the base, and between the base and the tripod plate, and also the rubber handle from a bicycle store.

The system is very strong and very light weight, I been using it for about 3 years,
last year I made another the same for my HVX.

The sunshade is made of aluminium, and has a Cokin filter system.

So I found a distributor of the conductors about 10 mins down the road from work. I'm picking them up after work. I need a find a place to buy the aluminum... If that's how you spell it :p What did you guys do for yours?

I'm working on a follow focus (which is a ton of work) and need to know how far down i should mount the connectors for my rail system. when i'm building the base plate under the camera i know that the rods (15mm) should be 60mm or 100mm apart. but i don't know how far from the bottom of the camera they should be. i would like to be able to put a matte box on the rods in the future and don't want to have to fiddle around with spacers etc. i will post pics later.

To quote Toenis:

Rail Diameter: 15mm
Rail Length: at least 250mm(10")
Rail Spacing: 60mm (r.c. to r.c.)
Rail Center to optical axis height: 85mm (or height adjustable)
