new demo reel draft critic

Steve, it's looking much better. I like the new stuff!

My first thoughts on it:

The longer shot of you shooting out of a car window is ok... but it felt like it was a transition. Perhaps it would fit more in the demo reel if it were between to films as a transitional shot. As of now it seems out of place.

I absolutely without a doubt love that light bouncing off the office building windows (or is it a walkway?), while the man runs up the street. Beautiful time of day and it's really great how that light streaks across the other buildings.

Yeah the shot through the car window was really put there because everything else looked weird with the part of that song. And the shot your talking about was lit with 4 12k's. ha no it was complete luck. It was the golden hour and the sun was right behind a hospital balcony thing which connected the two buildings which shot that shadow through to the wall. Thanks for checking it out ill look around to see if I can find something else to fill in for that tracking shot.

Some really good stuff, nice... Now for the critic, the middle and end work much better than the beginning. Think of your reel as a movie trailer, you want to get your audience in right away and for some reason I don't feel that.... I really start getting into it in the middle.

Here are some suggestions:

_Fade your name in slowly at the beginning, it will look more intriguing from the start, especially with the music you chose.
_Your first shot shouldn't be a close up . Start with a wide shot (00:29 wou, something slow to get the viewer into it, and make sure you dissolve it from your name plate. You want to keep the pace interesting and because of the soundtrack, sort of intriguing.
_ the shot with the guy with the glasses (00:10) doesn't really do it for me, I would lose that shot.
_ I think you should put the best stuff at the beginning and the end, to reinforce your skill. Don't forget: less is more. I also would use more disolve, some of the cuts seem very abrupt.
I think you have all the elements to make a strong reel, I just think that you need to spend a bit more time on the editing part, even though it a reel it still need to tell a story. The camera work and the photography is very good.
