New Core 2 Processors showing up: E6320 1.86ghz 4mb L2 Cache

i just built a new machine that i am still testing before i swap it in as my main machine but i got dual xeon dual core cpu's

the neat thing is i found a motherboard that will go up to quad core and higher speeds down the road.

i always try to find motherboards with a little bit of growing room because it is so much easier to drop in a new cpu(s) than to change motherboards.

Supermicro X7DAL-E

it also takes up to 6 dimms which is hard to find these days unless you get a motherboard that needs a huge case and i love my antec 900 case which is just standard atx but it holds 9 internal drives and almost as many fans!

Most of them will.

I'm buying the GIGABYTE P965-BOARD. Future-proof for Core 2.

Though my mid ATX tower can't hold as many drives as yours. I've heard a lot of good things about the Antec 900, especially that big ol' fan. LoL.

which processors do you have in that board? because i want to build a new computer soon, and was looking at a dual xeon one, but the xeons are so expensive..

Yeah the 22nd of this month, Bosindy. That's all I'm waiting for at this point is the E6320.

Also, there's a price drop on all the intel Core 2 Processors. Too bad the (fake) quad core isn't gonna drop to a reasonable price considering. Or I'd get one.

I'm doing the E6320 on the Gigabyte board and Overclocking to 3.20ghz. The E6300 consistantly overclocks to a stable and very cool 3.20ghz with the right combination, I expect the E6320 to perform the same way.

Xeons are for socket 771 boards. You won't be able to use one on your motherboard I don't think. And they aren't worth it, either. The E6X00 Series Core 2's are just as good, if not better, and cost less.

If I invested in ANY Quad Core at the moment, it'd be the QX6700.
