New Computer Needs XDcamHD to fly

I think it's that time again. I am going to be cutting a lot of XDcam-HD for a while and while I have access to Macs to do it on, I cannot wrap my head around FCP (and I have tried).

I have cut a small amount of XDcam-HD (not the XDcam-HD/EX stuff. This is from an F350) on Vegas 7 running on a 1.6gHz Centrino Duo and it was OK but not great. So I am putting together a tower to do it all on. I am not made of money here and I have priced something out around $1,000 and I would like to keep it there. Just want to run it by the gurus to make sure I am not going to hit any pitfalls.

My primary goals are:

Cut/Finish with XDcam-HD
After Effects Work @1080p

Nothing heavy in AE, but it is somewhat of a concern.

XP-Pro 32bit
Vegas 7 (Does 8 make any improvements in the XDcam department?)
AE 7 Pro

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4gHz (Would a C2D @ 2.6 be better for playback?)
4 Gig DDR2 800 Ram
GeForce 8600GT w/264MB

System drive would be a 10k Raptor.
Media Drives would be multiple 7.2K SATA HDDs @ 3GB/s (RAID is excessive for what I want to do right?)

MSI P6N SLI Platinum motherboard w/ Nvidia chipsets. I like it because I still have a number of IDE HDDs for SFX storage, etc...

I have a case and all that jazz. How much power do you all think this thing would need?

Also, I am going to assume that I am not going to get full screen playback on an external monitor (TV connected via DVI>HDMI). Would adding a Black Magic Intensity Card give me RT playback on an LCD TV?

Thanks in advance for any help guys!
