New Canon Cinema Camera to sit between C300 and C100?

I would not expect to see any new cameras, especially something between the C100 & C300.....I think we'll see more lenses coming.....just my opinion

Never happen. I don't think either 2k or 60p is in the XF codec spec.

Could they add a new codec? And by new I'm not saying creating a totally new codec, just using one of the codecs that's already out there that will allow 2k and/or 60p.

$10K is a tidy number, and the designation "C200" seems to be free. Now all Canon needs to do is come up with some specs suitably less than the C300. Honestly, I think Canon can get away with just about anything at this point.

my guess is the prime will be a cine 35mm L

if they release this mystery cam I'm also guessing it will be a C series dslr like the 1dc but cheaper

Whatever the specs are, I just hope they put the damn waveform in the viewfinder...

...and add high frame rates.

...and build the camera with the same precision as their high end stills cameras.

...and... ...I'll stop there...

Image wise, yes... Ergonomically, no.

Canon Rumors have already changed the rumour to be C50, under $6k.... I call BS

I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, most of these rumors are garbage IMHO. Especially when it is like a $500 8k camera that shoots 4:4:4 at 100mbps to CF cards with a 70mm chip & includes a 35-500mm f/2.8 lens in the price.

It would make more sense to have a more entry level priced cam around $3-4K......but I have not heard a thing.

not sure what else they could strip out the the C100? Lose C-Log? XLRs?
Talking this over with a friend all that's left to be stripped is Nd-Filters, XLR's, Peaking, Change the mount to M-mount, handycam shape, 1 SD slot, and Include a 1/8" mic. It would probably have 60P because of the new Digic IV and that would upset me a bit as all I'm asking for on my C100 is 60P but just going with it as it's a nice upgrade over my AF100 I had. Maybe they'll do the fix lens version Jim Martin mentioned a year back in passing. Oh well.

I'd be in for a c50 if it has a c series chip, but if its a t4i in a camcorder form factor then pass.

Before the C100 was formalized I said they should have just chopped the lens off of an Xf100 and jammed the chip in, mass produce the sensor enough so it can be priced appropriately. Maybe they'll go that route now, though likely only avchd2.0. I'd like to see m-mount, and an optional xlr top handle.

I'm sure we'll see an m-mount camcorder in the coming year, although I wouldn't be surprised if it was consumer.

It'll be the C100/C300 sensor in a DSLR formfactor shooting to the H.264 spec from the 7D on CF cards. And it can't take photos. $4000.

A 7Dc...

If it can't take photos then there's no need for the DSLR form factor as no mirror/pentaprism would be required.
