New Camera

Okay, so I know this kind of thread has probably been here thousands of times, but I'm really wondering what kind of video camera i should get, its hard to decide because obviously it is such a huge investment
Ive been leaning towards a dvx-100/a's because of the quality and the 24p and xlr inputs, but the price is kind of high.

Its basically between the dvx, gl2, and the vx-2100.

any thoughts?

The DVX will do everything the other two cameras will, plus a whole lot more.

So the question is, do you need the "more"? Depends on what you're doing with the camera. If you intend to shoot stuff that looks like film, or you care about audio quality, the answer is a no-brainer: get the DVX.

The other consideration is telephoto reach -- if you absolutely NEED the longest telephoto possible, the GL2's the only one to get of those three.

As to the GL2, I was thinking about one, wondering if they had fixed the "Remove the Casette" problem. I did a search for "GL2 Remove the Casette" on the net, and found out it is still a problem. My GL1 had this problem, and it has been absolutely useless since I bought it. Canon couldn't fix it. I recently replaced it with a DVX and have been thrilled with it. Just my .02 cents worth.

I have used the professional version of the vx-2100, the pd-170 and there is no comparison to the DVX. I suggest getting the DVX.
