New Camera crane by VariZoom and Twitter

This our new Quick Jib camera crane for cameras up to 30lbs. This will also accommodate our pan and tilt units. The pics below are of the first assembled production unit. Everything fit well so we will begin polishing and powder coating parts and begin shipping in a few weeks. Note the crane is in longest configuration but will also breakdown to half size shown.

Also VariZoom now has a Twitter account and we will begin making discount product announcements as well we will flat give away some products to the folks that follow and are the first ones to call in after we announce a free prize.

Here is a tip. Free control after 30th and 50th follower sign up and then bigger products and even a crane once we get in the hundreds.

More details here: VariZoom/Twitter

Also we will make a Quick jib a fest prize here at DVXUSER as well.

No plans for cable control but we have the Zero Gravity head we will probably package with it for those that don't want a powered head.

looks pretty cool and compact.

Will it have any manual tilt control?

Thanks. I'm pretty happy with what we got although it is probably built a little tougher than it needs to be. I just get nervous with gear hanging over heads.

Cost I am still adding it up but for sure under $2,000. I will have packages with heads MC50 and MC100 and the Zero Gravity manual head.

The tripod in picture is the one I made for the SnapCrane and is overkill for this crane. Kessler makes a nice little lighter duty crane tripod that I think would be sufficient and I may recommend since it cost about half of what I sell my heavier duty one. I am uncertain about the compatibility of there tripod with my crane and dolly.

Hopefully we can hit a $3,000-$3,500. price for crane, tripod, dolly and and good quality remote head like the MC50. I have had some options to make cheaper remote heads but remote heads under $2,000. are usually to jerky and are really positioning heads and not smooth enough for motion control.

Anyway working on it. What do you think (everyone) the magic number is for a whole package with a decent motion control head?

looks great, when do we get to see a price tag? and would the zero gravity head and powerhead be sold seperately?
