New Brevis Owners

Big improvements have been made on the Brevis. I've heard all about them from Dennis' "press releases" but I'd really like to hear about it from end users - pro and weekend warriors. I don't need to see in depth mega testing just yet. I know what a time suck that is. Two weeks after my LEX E2E vs SG tests, a new achromat was born. I've deleted those files already.

So for right now I'd love to hear some feedback on the following from users (not speculators, please).

1) Edge to edge with both the HVX and EX1
2) Build Quality
3) Centering adjustment - how easy / accurate is it to use
4) Collimation - again how easy and accurate is it
5) Sharpness
6) Bokeh
7) Max stop - how high can you go?
8) Dust sealing - any problems yet? Any DIY gasket solutions?
9) Lens mount - is it sturdy. Do you see any wobble whatsoever when pulling focus on a long lens.
10) Light loss. Yeah this one's been beaten into the ground but if you could corroborate that would be great.

In short, I buy and sell adaptors as soon as I think there's something better than the one I have. Better in terms of my needs and priorities (E2E, Build Quality, Light Loss being at the head of the pack). If I could afford to have them all I would. But as I believe in having a second back up - so it's a luxury I can't afford. So please, whom ever has the new Cinevate toy let us know what it's all about.

I finished an on the job head to head of the Brevis vs SG vs Redrock while filming a new corporate promo vid for Gulfstream Aerospace. I'll be posting some stills (low quality unfortunately) and mainly text review of my experiences, which includes the breakdown on the last gen Brevis.

Mine is about heading off to get upgraded to the MP1 setup this week and I have the new EX1 achromat for the SG so I will post up yet another head to head of the two adapters in their latest forms in a week or so once the Brevis returns freshened up. I honestly don't even bother with the M2 units anymore unless a client truly wants it. The flip is ok but it doesn't fix the poor lightloss.

If you could tell me out of the sgpro and the brevis what your favorite is, that would be great?

OMG, oMFG, that was effin beautiful. Can you point to couple of shots that were done with the brevis vs sgpro? damn that was good.

I don't even need to see stills, charts or any other of that. Just would like to hear what the on set experience was like. Test environments while helpful never really tell how well gear performs day to day on set. So please, if you've any first hand impressions, impress us.

Thanks
