New blog: WebIsTheNewTV.com - call for submissions

I've just launched a new blog called WebIsTheNewTv.com where I intend to publish anything and everything related to video on the web - from news to tutorials to tips and tricks to whatever else might come up.

The concept arose from the frustration I felt when researching this precise topic: There are very few sites that provide in-depth coverage of the subject matter and there are few good tutorials out there on compression for different video sharing sites and the whole issue of compression for web as a whole. (there are tons of tutorials out there - they just suck). The blog just launched two days ago and I'm building content (and design) right now with a plan for a proper launch in the next couple of weeks.

Right now I'm looking for tips, tricks, tutorials and other stuff people like you might find interesting or have to offer. So if you've come across something you think should be featured or you have something to say (or maybe you even want to write something for me?) please get in touch. I think you'll agree this type of resource is necessary.

holla at yo boy!

I usually don't bump anything but I find it hard to believe no one has anything to offer here. I'm not doing this for money - it's an attempt at filling an information void that is becoming very annoying for a lot of people.

So, again, if you have anything to offer I'm providing an outlet for it. I know there are compression specialists lurking around in here and I know a lot of you want to publish stuff on the web but are having trouble. so, let's combine out forces and hash out something that actually works instead of working independently on our own little islands inventing the wheel over and over and over again.

Morten - I think it's a great idea and a great name.

Maybe you could post an article about Vimeo. They seem to be a great HD video hosting site. And the user comments are more civilized than YouTube or Break.

Good luck with the site. I'll do what I can to spread the word.

Thanks PK. Actually I'm working on a whole section about all the different video sharing sites - pros and cons, quality, ease of use, popularity etc. - so if people have experiences I'd love to hear from you.

For instance, did you know that MetaCafe will do everything in their power to refuse payment of their so-called revenue sharing? that's info worth spereading
