If you buy one of this displays, the image is still going to how it looks in a computer, isn't it?

Why would you still need a broadcast monitor? Or you don't have to buy a broadcast monitor any more?

Yummy. You have to have the new video card just to drive the thing too. Imagine 2 of those linked up... hmmmm

I know 2, damn...Araujofh, a field monitor is good for seeing what the true NTSC video is going to look like when it is previewed on Television....it is also great for color correction...

Holy sh!t,

but I still like the clear plactic frame design of the old displays better. One of the reasons I bought a G4 instead of the G5. Terrible reason I know, but I've got to look at the damn thing.

How practical would that res be at 30" ?? do our softwares even support overlay at such high res?? I know i see pretty noticeable video tear when I size the video display in XpressPro to be 800pixel wide.

I'm sure they've worked it out. You have to buy the new nVidia card just to run it.

That is not a technological advance, it's juts a change in scale... :P

It's useless for us SD editors. NTSC/PAL is such small frame in a 2000+ pixels wide desktop.. what the hell you gonna use the rest of the space for? the 23" Cinema is a nice size for us.

The displays shown on Anandtech are nice, but they run at a resolution of 1280x768.
The new Apple 30" display runs at an insanely awesome 2560x1600. That is a major difference.
The thing I really want to know is who manufactured these babies for apple.
It looks like all three new apple displays work on the PC too. I might have to get one. The smallest.. ahem.. least expensive one, of course.

i hope that special card work on the pc as well...

a 30 inch dispay could be just the ticket, i have two 17 inch displays now with a sony ntsc monitor and sometimes you still wish you had a little bit more room on the screen.

i just don't want to try and imagine dealing with 3 separate screens, there has got to be a point where just looking left to right gets to be cumbersome.

Some folks have been using the Cinema displays on PCs using DVI to ADC adapters.
