New 35 PICS

"very nice, i wish i could dance like that

what lens did you shoot it with?"

Thank you. Most of it was shot with a Konica 50mm f1.4, and some of the older footage was shot with a Konica 50mm f2.8.

Why make a clip that requires iTunes? Why not a standard .mov?

I have no reason to use iTunes and will never install it (unless an iPod just falls into my hands free of charge...) I suspect there are a lot of people who feel the same.

It's easier to put up and doesn't require lots of space! It takes light years for anything to load on idisk (this is the only thing I've found that sucks about mac).

Now you do, that's if you want to see it. Itunes is used for other reasons besides music.

So you don't listen to music?

So far no, everyone else here doesn't seem to have any problems! Don't worry I'm having a site put up as we speak, I'll keep everyone updated.

Thanks

Easier how? A .mov is just a file -- you sit it in a directory and point a link to the file. If you need free hosting, there are a handful that will let you u/l any file type. What's simpler than that?

Of course I listen to music. In WinAmp.

Otherwise, to put it another way -- I have no reason to install iTunes other than watching your one clip versus the tens or dozens I watch daily . Everyone else seems alright encoding in .wmv, .mov, or any of the divx/3ivx/mpeg4 codecs.

C'mon look around on this very forum -- take a guess at the number of people who encode to m4v exclusively.

OK, I guess PaPa doesn't count. I'd bet most of the people successfully viewing the clip are on a Mac.

The point is, I'd like to see your footage, but I have no need to install iTunes. Oh well...

quicktime is a plug-in no?

Yeah. Perhaps it's just a Firefox thing, but I'm not getting it to load at all through the browser despite having the plugin. I did just now get it to load in QTPro, however.

Yes he does count and so do you, but don't ask in a snotty tone and you won't receive a snotty answer. lol

If you right click the clip and open it up with Quicktime it should work fine.

No hard feelings.

As much as everyone's entitled to their preferences, Robert and twocik are right about one thing - just open it in Quicktime.

My rule of thumb in this forum is, if it didn't open in one, try another. After all of the .wmv and .ra (!) files posted in the past, you never heard Mac users grousing, they just had to find apps that played them. A pain, yes, but not a showstopper.

Now, enough platform snarkiness from both sides, or it's back to the Moviola for the lot of you!

Your adapter footage looks great and that was some gorgeous footage. And thats some great CC- and very well edited to boot. My faves are the parking garage scenes
