New 19mm FF, Grip Clamps from Cinevate

For those of you who've been waiting, we've got two cool new products/enhancements slated for our catalog update tomorrow.

1. New Proteus Grip clamps. These now use a similar system to our highly successful Durus Follow Focus and support upwards of 100lbs of weight without slipping...in a tool-less design. This increases the clamping force of our existing grips by about 50% while reducing the tightending effort significantly. The video covering the Durus follow focus has a demonstration of me spinning an entire 30lb camera hanging on only to our FF know..same clamp!

2. The Durus folllow focus 19mm version is done and will be available tomorrow. If you already have our 15mm version, no sweat as the 19mm mount is fully compatible and will be available as a seperate part for those wanting full 15mm and 19mm interchangeability in one FF :-)

Cheers,
Dennis.

Well the rig in the video below was just over 30lbs...so how heavy is your RED ? A shot of the FF twirl on the RED would be something special :-)

Hmmmm. I shot with the RED twirling would be cool but out of frame would be a big air mattress. I think our setup is like 35-40lbs but if you think it can twirl a RED I will give it a shot.

I say do it :-) It's built like a tank.

The new grip clamps are now in the Cinevate catalog...new description, but old pics until we empty booth C8742 out of our studio and get back in there for some more product shots :-)

Cheers,
Dennis.

If his Red crashes to the ground, I immediatly delete my comments in thread, pull the video from website and call my insurance agent :-)

On the topic of accidental destruction, wait untill you see the "promo" pieces that will debut at NAB. I promise Brazillian super-models (saw one of them today), at least one Brevis unit ending it's life, another taking a shower ... there'll be a few good laughs coming.

Cheers,
Dennis.

Dennis,

I noticed on the pic of the proteus grip handles that there are two holes on top of each grip extension. Are they the standard screw size for attachments like a monitor? I would need something like that. Or are they just a result of the holes from the tightening fasteners?

Pretty much all of our fasteners and threads on the rails are 1/4" 20 ... same as the camera tripod attachment hole on most cameras. Depending on the monitor attachment type, you can remove our fastener and replace with the monitor mount stud if it's 1/4" 20...like the Noga arms.

So just to be clear, I can connect the grips to the rods and also attach an accessory on top (like a monitor) as long as it fits the 1/4" 20 size. Correct?
