one of the best things you could ever do in this industry! anyways, i met the senior editor @ a pretty well known editorial boutique here. [credits include pepsi, dr.pepper,...] now, he says he will cut my projects for free! :) how freaking awesome is that?! ok, i just had to get that out my system!

i wanna hear some other people networking stories!!!:)

Networking is huge.

I've got a number of very experienced industry people helping me put together my short film, which is going to end up being much more professional than I ever imagined. Having a kickass script has gotten their attention.

I met my DP through the web ... he just had a show premier on MTV.

I met my casting director through another filmmaker ... she can get my script to any actor in NYC and many in LA.

I met my Emmy-nominated composer at a shootingpeople.org party.

I met my editor through the web ... she's an extremely experienced Hollywood sound editor and is now getting into film editing.

I've met a couple young filmmakers who are lending their HVX200s to the shoot in order to work with an experienced cast and crew.

But most importantly, through IFP I met a multiple festival winning writer-director-producer and we're currently cowriting his next feature. His previous feature was distributed on DVD and is currently playing on Starz and Showtime.

Without networking I'd still be writing scripts nobody'll ever read and making short films nobody'll ever see.
