I have a project im working on where i have a camera moving around a page.
i want the camera to be shaking the entire time as if it nervous/had to much coffe.
i know expressions would be the way to go, but i know nothing about them yet.
i already have the camera movements, i just need to add the shaking.
any advice?
Thanks.

Alt-click on the stopwatch for POSITION for the layer you want to shake.
type in the text box that pops up:

wiggle(10,40)

first number = times to wiggle each second,
second = how many pixels maximum to wiggle.
adjust the numbers to suit your needs

Turn on motion blur for the layer and for the comp

I'd say, use a big shake with a low frequency and a smaller shake with a higher frequency. Makes it look a little more realistic.

Wiggler will get you there.

Here's an alternative 12 step program if you want to give it a go.
1. Drink an entire pot of coffee.
2. Draw a dot in the middle of a blank sheet of paper.
3. Go to the bathroom because you drank an entire pot of coffee.
4. Tape the paper you made is step 2 to the wall.
5. Go to the bathroom again because you drank an entire pot of coffee.
6. Get out your video camera and shoot the dot handheld.
7. Digitize the handheld footage of the dot.
8. Curse the man that made a suggestion to drink an entire pot of coffee.
9. Go to the bathroom again.
10. Import the clip of the dot into AE and use the motion tracker to track the dot.
11. Apply the motion track data to your camera or a null (camera parent).
12. Tweak it and vow to never drink an entire pot of coffee again.

I dont drink coffee.
I'am a tea man.

but you know, i may actually try that just to practice motion tracking!

Thanks everyone!
