NeoScene PC -> Mac

So, I recently purchased NeoScene to help me work with AVCHD footage in Vegas. Works great.

Now, today, I'm sending a completed edit to a client, who is going to compress it on a Mac after putting their logos at their intro and outro on it (for legal reasons, they can't give me these files to do it myself). As I wanted to give them the file at the highest possible quality, I sent my contact the edit as a 1.8gb 720p30 NeoScene AVI... which isn't working on his computer, at all.

So, what should I convert it to to keep the quality at a very high level, but still under 2gb? It needs to be in the MP4 format, and exportable from Vegas...

Tell him to install the free Cineform client, and it will work fine. If he doesn't want to install anything, then ask for his preferred delivery type (other than ProRes).

Cool. I'll send him that link. If he doesn't want to do that, do you have any suggestions (short of HDLink - I do a lot of work with this guy, but not enough to warrant spending another $500...)? He just wants it at "the highest quality" as a MP4, and, aside from doing web compression, I don't know anything about the format...

When I am working with PC <-> Mac handoff's I use Avid's DNxHD on both sides. It's free, it's VERY high quality, and the colors stay true from system to system, unlike most other codecs when they go across platforms. I've found everything else to either be too expensive, or too much trouble.

I'll make a note of that. He went with NeoPlayer (thankfully), and says it's working fine.

Thanks, Perrone!
