Looking to make neon lights out of some illustrations i've made.
I have an idea of how to go about making one, but i think it wont work.
So does anyone know the way to pul this off where the light also reflects or spills over on other objects?
Many thanks.

Can you post an example?

Making the drawing look neon wouldn't be that hard, but having it cast its glow onto other things would involve you going in and hand painting those hotspots as well as the shadows that would accompany them.

If it was able to be done as a still shot and then navigated or animated in AE, I would use photoshop for the drawing and have a large pic in whatever frame size comp you want and move it around that way.

A small degree of Optics Compensation would give it a little lens aberration and make it look a little more like it was shot with a video camera.

Thanks for the tip.
I didnt think it would be that difficult to pull this off lol.
Someone here had a demo reel where their name was made out of neon lights to open the reel.
i'll try and find it again, but its the perfect example of what i want to do.

Applying glow on outlined text is a simple method of mimicking neon. You said "reflect the light" in the original post which would require the use of a 3D app. That's probably why you didn't get a lot responses.
