NEMA 14-50 Distro Box

Hey all,

Curiosity strikes again! I've tried googling this but am having a hard time finding the right keywords to use. The question is simple, do any companies make distro boxes that take a NEMA 14-50 input? I'm trying to find a convenient way to plug into a stove outlet and power one or two big lights or multiple smaller lights. I realize stoves take 220V AC, so if I'm plugging in 110V lights there'd have to be a transformer in the box as well. Seems like these types of devices must exist somewhere though?

Thanks!

NEMA 14-50 appears to be wired with the two opposite "phases" plus NEUTRAL plus green-wire ground.
So it is not clear why you think you need a transformer? (which will be large, heavy, and expensive)!

Many people make their own adapter boxes from parts from Home Depot (or Lowes or similar shops).
Amazon shows a 4-foot cord with a NEMA 14-50 plug molded on the end for $12

I am out on a mobile video production even as I write this.
The video production truck is powered from exactly such an adapter as you describe.
It was home-made (from Home Depot parts) and it is plugged into the dryer outlet.

I know Guy Holt at ScreenLight & Grip posts often online about using a transformer distro system. If you're looking for one to rent that would be the place to go.

You have 2 hots a ground and a neutral. You could make up a tail with cam locks and feed an existing cam fed pd, but you'll be limited two 2 legs at 50 amps each so be aware of your loads
