Does anyone know if you need any sort of passport or visa to interview someone in Canada? Most of my interviews have been in the US, but I have a few in Vancouver that I need get and I have no experience with crossing the border with camera gear.

You will need a visa. I'm not sure whats involved. Is it a doc. or something commercial? Drop me a line (PM) and I might be able to help you out.

You will Not need a work visa unless you are making money in canada. I travel the opposite, from
canada to the US and Europe for documentary work. Sometimes with just a 5d and audio gear, sometimes with 2 5ds and a z7u and audio gear. No need for a visa. Say you're going for business and tell them exactly what you're doing. No need to worry.

Hey Ryan, I actualy forgot to mention that when we're bringing our full kit we do have a carnet listing all our gear. This is to insure that we're not crossing the border to sell anything. Our producer takes care of this for us so I may actually be missing some facts.
