Hey guys looking for a dealer in the uk that can supply an arri softank kit looked everywhere on google but cant a supplier similar to BHPhoto that deals in the uk. If there is any UK shooters out there with light kits can you tell me where youve got em from.Or can i order a 220v arri kit direct from BHPhoto to work in the uk.

Of course you could always buy direct from Arri Media London (Lighting Sales)......

Why don't you buy from B&H? I use them nearly every week and it turns up in three days from NY to Dorset!

Far cheaper as well.

How much do you pay in import taxes?

Import duty varies on whether it gets through customs withot them slapping a duty sticker on it or not.

If I do get caught for duty, which is about 50/50, I pay about 20% of the price. But that is still far chaeper than buying from a UK source!

Last week I got a set of Sony 7506 headphones. Price was $80. £45. I paid no duty.

The week before I purchased a load of odds and ends, it came to $250. I paid about £30 duty. I am paying in dollars what you are paying in pounds here. Plus the choice is bigger and delivery is only 3 days. Can't go wrong.

Proof is here. Kino Flo Diva Lite 400. Creative sell it at 1169.13 inc VAT

B&H sell it for $1039.95

$1039.95 = £596.78

Where would you rather buy it from?

I agree its worth the chance of importing goods from another country. But keep in mind you may well have to find the extra cash for import duties due. So if you are spending some serious cash at BH Photo remember to budget a wedge for Customs & Excise.

If it gets through the net, good for you if not then at least you've budgeted for it.

Some companies can undervalue the goods being shipped but this could back fire big time. If the package is lost or damaged the shipping company will only pay a premiun on the declared value of the goods.

I was actually thinking about getting a Kino Flo from bhphotovideo, but then I started thinking about the power differences between the US and Europe. Does it work out of the box or do you have to get a converter of sorts? Note that I'm not talking about the actual plug (which obviously has to be changed).
