Need to select different audio channels for import

I just got done logging timecodes for a project. Most of the interviews were logged as A1+A2 however all my soundbytes from the lavalier mic were on channel 1 on the camera. I know I can just delete the unused track on the timeline. But is there a way I can change this before I actually import the footage? I tried right clicking on the clip to bring up the properties and it won't let me change it from A1+A2 to just A1 or to Stereo that's it.

Here's what you have to do, the audio is married to the video, period. But you can get your results.

Place original clip in Timeline window. BTW, I always make a Scratch Sequence at the begining of each project to be able to do stuff like this without messing up my other Sequences. Then unlink it from the audio, delete the audio tracks you don't want, re-link the video and audio. Next, drag this back to the Browser and give it an appropriate name. Poof, a clip with only one audio track.
