This doesn't really apply to final cut pro specifically, but it's what I use to edit so I figure I'd post it here.
I have some footage that after looking at quite a few times I noticed that the shot is really tight and the overscan on TVs would probably cut off parts that are crucial to the shot. So i figured if I reduce the scale it would make the image smaller and centered so that nothing, or not nearly as much, would be cut off. But I don't know how much I should do it by. I know that the amount of overscan that TVs have varies, but does anyone know where a good number to start would be? around 90 percent I'd guess.
Thanks.
