Need to find a good mixer...

I've been looking for a decent mixer to use when shooting a road movie this summer....anyone have any favorites they could use?

I can easily rent a SHURE MIXER FP33 for $50 a day....

Anyone suggest another model?

We're going to basically have to lav mics on our leads, and a boom (or two) as well.

A great 3-channel mixer that is well endorsed here is the Sound Devices 302.

I own one and am very satisfied with its performance.

You might want to check around for rental prices... $50/day for the fp33 is quite high. Trew Audio rents it out for $30. You can step up to the Sound Devices 442 for $35... no contest.

The Sound Devices one is going to get lots of hits around here. If it's out of your budget, check out the DV Promix3. Retails for $570 or so. Pretty good sound to my untrained ears. Also, I happen to have mine for sale if you're looking to buy. Drop me a note if interested. Downsizing. I'll sell at a very good price.

wendt x5, you can wire 3 people and go with two booms. simple, reliable and great sounding mixer
