We just wrapped on a zombie short and I would like to emulate the sound of the zombie screams used in the 2004 version of the Dawn of the Dead. Those growls and screams were reminiscent of wild cats such as cougars and mountain lions. But I would like to use some effect on the actors voice when they scream. Any one know of some effects I can start with? I am currently using SoundBooth to process my audio.

Didn't see the film but it's entirely possible that there are animals layered in there, I would almost bet on it. I would also bet that the scream is quite a few layers deep. So processed Actor voice + a couple of layers of animals and possibly some other sounds like wind mixed in.
