A client of mine has a son who just got an internship at a sports training facility. They want him to shoot video of training workouts and then play it back, possibly in slo-mo. He was hoping I could help train him or make suggestions on an inexpensive camera and editing platform.
As a long-time user of FCP, I know trying to teach him that is to deep and time-consuming. But I don't really know much about the amateur platforms out there. So my question to all - can you suggest a mac-based platform that is more amateur, easy-to-learn, and has online tutorials? They are not looking for pro-looking results; he doesn't need effects or transitions, etc; I think he just needs to be able to capture from an SDHC card and cut clips into a timeline, and hopefully be able to slow them down and scrub thru the timeline.
Suggestions?
